truck rental liability

It's moving day and you need to rent a truck to move your stuff from your old house to your new digs.  How do you answer the guy at the rental place when he asks if you want liability insurance for the truck?  The liability limit on your personal auto policy will extend to pay for damage to the rental truck as long as you aren't required to have a CDL (commercial driver license) to drive the vehicle.  In short if you can drive the truck using your Class D license your personal auto policy will pay for damage to the truck while it's in your care.  The bottom line is it's your decision whether to use your auto policy liability or pay the truck rental company for the same coverage.  Check with your agent if you have questions.
