rental reimbursement

Picture this - just 4 months ago you brought home that spanking new car and in today's mail you got a recall notice!  What's with this!  Within the past few years car owners seem to have been hit with a spate recalls.  Most issues can be resolved in one day but what happens if the dealer needs to keep your car over night?  Will your auto policy rental insurance pay for a replacement car while your car is in the shop?  What if it's in the shop for routine maintenance?  Unfortunately the answer to both questions is no!  Rental reimbursement is 'triggered' by a covered peril in the auto policy such as collision damage, vandalism, flood, falling objects - you get the picture.  Should you need a rental car in these situations look to the dealer to give you a loaner or discounted rental.  If in doubt give me a call.
